Salem State University has multiple campuses, many offices, as well as many different systems. Sometimes it can be confusing to find your way or to figure out the answer to your questions. The student advocacy office is committed to providing information, support and advocacy to empower students to resolve concerns that may act as a barrier to retention, progression and graduation. In addition, the office, when needed, acts as a liaison between students and university personnel in a fair and impartial manner regarding students rights and university policies/regulations.

Reasons to contact the office:

  • I have a question/problem and I don't know how to solve it
  • I've tried to resolve a concern and haven't been successful
  • I'm dealing with a major life issue which is impacting my success
  • I would like to know my rights in a situation pertaining to the university
  • I have an issue with a university policy or procedure
  • I feel like I am being treated unfairly
