Parking Ticket Appeals

You can appeal an open parking ticket issued by Salem State University. Appeals must be submitted within 21 days of the issuance of the parking citation and will receive a response within 30 days. A charge of $5.00 will be added to your fine if the appeal is not granted. Failure to remit payment or appeal within 21 days after the citation date may result in additional penalties and the non-renewal of the vehicle owner's license and registration. (GL Ch. 90, ยง 20A)

For Students: If you have received a parking violation that you have not paid within 30 days, it will result in a parking violation hold on your student account. This hold will prohibit you from receiving your transcripts and registering for any future semester(s).

Students can have their hold removed within 48 hours by downloading a payment receipt and emailing it to our collections office.

If you have any questions please email our collections office and include your full name and vehicle plate number.
