Sponsored Programs and Research Administration (SPRA) is a department under academic affairs that serves the entire campus community. Our mission is to offer service and support to all administrators, faculty and staff in seeking external funding for special academic programs, community projects, curriculum development, professional development, research, and outside collaboration.
Additionally, we provide administrative services, including application review processing and committee oversight to the Institutional Review Board (IRB) and Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC). Research administration ensures the ethical conduct of research at Salem State through the administration of the Institutional Review Board (IRB) for the protection of human subjects research, Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) other compliance policies.
SPRA strives to ensure the university is in compliance with the complex web of regulatory requirements that govern research. We promote an understanding among faculty, students and staff of the requirements they must complete in conducting research. Whether you are pursuing external funding or planning a research project, we have found through our experience that communication is the key to success.
