About Relocation Services

Human Resources and Equal Opportunity are pleased to offer our services to assist faculty and staff by providing relocation assistance to newly hired employees.

The process of moving is always challenging. Our goal is to assist you in any way possible and help make your relocation to Salem State a smooth and successful one.

What We Do

  • Provide assistance with assessing relocation needs
  • Deliver guided overviews of cities and neighborhoods
  • Assist with referrals to realtors
  • Provide options for temporary or permanent housing off-campus
  • Deliver information about schools, amenities, commuting, etc.

What Relocation Services Does Not Do

  • Serve as a real estate agent
  • Provide financial, legal or tax advice
  • Guided tours

Resources

Temporary/Permanent Housing Options

Salem State University has contracted Vinnin Square Apartments to provide local housing within only a few miles from the university. We would be happy to assist you with scheduling a tour.

Only a block away from the university, Salem State has purchased a three bedroom home that may be utilized for shared temporary housing. Utilities included. Pictures are provided and we would be happy to assist you with scheduling a tour of the apartment.

Deliver guided overviews of cities and neighborhoods

Human Resources team is well educated in the Salem area and surrounding cities and towns. We are happy to assist you any questions you may as you relocate, including commuting options and/or schools systems.

Realtor Referrals

We have paired with SAGAN Realtors, a top leading reality company serving the North Shore area, including Salem, Marblehead, Swampscott, Lynn and Peabody. If you are interested in a referral please contact the human resources department.

Dual Career Services

We understand that the decision to relocate may involve two careers. The Career Place of Woburn may assist with life partner employment assistance with the following services:

Orientation · career planning and assessment · referral to training · resume development and interviewing skills · workshops · computer classes · career resource library · job readiness preparation · job placement assistance · follow-up.
