Allan Brockenbrough, Assistant Professor, Computer Science

Professor Brockenbrough has been teaching at Salem State since 2021. Prior to that, Professor Brockenbrough was the Director of Information Technology at Endicott College. Professor Brockenbrough earned a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics/Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University, a Master of Science in Computer Science from University of California, Berkeley, and a Doctor of Science in Computer Science from Aspen University.

Brian Curry Krieger, Assistant Professor, School of Nursing

Professor Curry Krieger has been a registered nurse at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston since 2020. Professor Curry Krieger earned a Bachelor of Science, Forest Ecosystem Conservation from the University of Maine and a Master of Science in Nursing, Nursing Education from Salem State University.

Albert DeCiccio, Professor, English

Professor DeCiccio has been the interim writing coordinator and a professor of English at Salem State since 2019. Prior to that he was the Interim Dean, School of Arts and Sciences, and Education at D’Youville College and Vice President of Academic Affairs, Laboure College. Professor DeCiccio earned a Bachelor of Arts in English from Merrimack College, a Master of Arts in English from SUNY Albany, and a Ph.D. from Arizona State University.

Kristin Erbetta, Assistant Professor, School of Social Work

Professor Erbetta has been a visiting assistant professor at Salem State since 2017. Professor Erbetta earned a Bachelor Arts degree in Psychology and a Master of Social Work degree from Simmons University, a Master of Public Health degree from Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and a Ph.D. from Simmons University.

Brian Ernest, Assistant Professor, Childhood Education and Care

Professor Ernest was previously an assistant professor of special education at Montana State University. Professor Ernest earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from New York University, a Master of Arts in Education and Human Development and an Ed.D. in Special Education from The George Washington University.

Md Rashedul Islam, Assistant Professor, Psychology

Professor Islam was previously an instructor at the University of Minnesota at Duluth. Professor Islam earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Ashford University, a Master of Science in Industrial and Organizational Psychology and a Ph.D. from Wright State University.

Melissa Kaplowitch, Assistant Professor, Psychology

Professor Kaplowitch was previously an instructor of psychology at Lasell University and Northeaster University. Professor Kaplowitch was also a clinical fellow at Harvard Medical School, Brockton Veterans Affairs Hospital. Professor Kaplowitch earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Clark University, a M.A. and Ed.M. from Columbia University and a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Northeast University.

Zoe Kessler, Assistant Professor, School of Social Work

Professor Kessler has been a full-time temporary faculty in the School of Social Work at Salem State since 2020 and an adjunct professor at Simmons College since 2017. Professor Kessler earned a Bachelor of Arts from University of New Hampshire, a Master of Social Work from Salem State, and a Ph.D. ABD from the University of Dundee, U.K.

Mark Libon, Assistant Professor, Psychology

Professor Libon has been teaching at Salem State since 2019. Professor Libon earned a Bachelor of Arts, Psychology from University of New Hampshire, Master of Arts, Developmental Clinical Psychology from Antioch University and a Ph.D., Clinical Psychology from California School of Professional Psychology.

Mbita Mbao, Assistant Professor, School of Social Work

Professor Mbao was previously an adjunct instructor at Simmons University in Boston. Professor Mbao earned a Bachelor of Social Work from Bowling Green State University, a Master of Social Work from Rhode Island College, and a PhD from Simmons University.

Binneh Minteh, Assistant Professor, Criminal Justice

Professor Minteh has been teaching at Salem State since 2021. Prior to that, Professor Minteh was an adjunct professor at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. Professor Minteh earned a Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems from New York University, a Master of Science in Global Affairs also from New York University and a Ph.D. from Rutgers University-Newark.

Katelyn Nicolay, Assistant Professor, Sport and Movement Science

Professor Nicolay previously taught at Lasell University and North Dakota State University. Professor Nicolay earned a Bachelor of Kinesiology – athletic therapy from the University of Manitoba, Master of Science from Illinois State University, and a Doctor of Education from Northeastern University.

Amanda Noah, Instructor, Healthcare Studies

Professor Noah previously taught at the University of North Texas. Professor Noah earned a Bachelor of Social Work from Midwestern State University, a Master of Science in Health Services Administration from University of North Texas and a Ph.D. in Health Services Research from the University of North Texas, College of Health, and Public Service.

Sheila Perrault, Assistant Professor, School of Nursing

Professor Perrault has been teaching at the School of Nursing at Salem State since 2004. Professor Perrault earned a Master of Science in Nursing and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Salem State.

Dawn Stahura, Associate Librarian, Library

Librarian Stahura was an instruction librarian at Broward College. Librarian Stahura previously worked at Salem State in the Library. Librarian Stahura earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Creative Writing from Purdue University, an AAS in Business Management from Ivy Tech Community College and MLS, Library and Information Science from Indiana University.

Amy Wachsmuth, Assistant Professor, School of Nursing

Professor Wachsmuth has been teaching at Salem State since 2019. Professor Wachsmuth has also taught at MGM Institute of Health Professions in Boston. Professor Wachsmuth earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Saint Anselm College and a Master of Science, Nursing Education from Salem State.
