Please join us for the CRCA-sponsored events for 2019-2020

CRCA Open House

The Center for Research and Creative Activities in collaboration with Berry Library will be hosting an open house in the library at room 208. Join us to learn more about our programming for 2019-2020, including our drop-in office hours and the Research Hub.

The CRCA Open House will take place on Thursday, September 12 at 4-5:30 pm.

Featured Scholar Series

The Featured Scholar Series showcases the scholarship of several faculty members and offers an opportunity for the university community and the public to learn more about innovative research and creative activities taking place at Salem State.

We feature faculty and librarians who have recently published a book or have one forthcoming. We also feature faculty from the creative and performing arts.

Showcases will take place on October 10, November 6 and December 6. Learn more about details and upcoming dates.

Visiting Scholar Conversations

Visiting Scholar Conversations is a new series that provides an opportunity for international scholars to share their work with the Salem State community. Please join us for the following events:

Monday, October 8 at 4-5:30pm | | Library 209

Micha Choi?ski, an assistant professor of American Literature at Jagiellonian University,  will present a talk titled, “Between the ‘Twilight Zone’ and ‘Intellectual Deafness’: Lillian Smith's and Katherine Du Pre Lumpkin's Southern ‘Social Autobiographies.’"

Choi?ski's academic interests include rhetoric, digital humanities, and the literature of the American South. He is the author of Rhetoric of the Revival (2016, V&R) and his next book, Southern Hyperboles is coming out with LSU Press in 2020. His debut poetic collection, Gifts Without Wrapping, will be published by the Hedgehog Press in the UK this year.

Fulbright Day

Did you know that Salem State has been recognized as a top producer of Fulbright scholars? Are you or one of your students interested in applying for a Fulbright grant to teach or research abroad?

Join our Fulbright Day, which includes a luncheon to learn more about Fulbright opportunities and celebrate past recipients. A Fulbright representative will be available for individual consultations as well.
