About Jane Swift

Former Massachusetts Governor Jane Swift is an accomplished leader in both the public and private sectors and a recognized national voice on education policy, women’s leadership and work/family integration. 

Swift served for fifteen years in state government, including holding the offices of Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Secretary of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation and State Senator. Since leaving public office, Swift has held roles in the private sector focused on education as a Chief Executive Officer, an adviser to entrepreneurial education companies, a board member and committee chair for public companies, and a partner in a venture capital fund. She serves on a number of boards including Suburban Propane (SPH), a publicly traded propane distribution company, and Climb Credit, a financer of post-secondary education programs. 

With each new challenge Swift brings a transformational leadership style, a passion for educational excellence and innovation, and deep experience and success in leading mission-focused organizations. Today, she serves as a Senior Advisor to Whiteboard Advisors and as an Operating Partner to the Vistria Group as well as founding Cobble Hill Farm Education & Rescue Center.

This panel will be moderated by Jane Swift and feature three distinguished guests who will share their career paths, tips for college students, and insights on the value of public service as a career accelerator.

Panelists include: Cathy Judd-Stein, Chair of the Massachusetts Gaming Commission; Jenny Armini, Massachusetts State Representative; and Kate Donaghey, Chief of Staff to the Massachusetts Secretary of Education.

One-on-One Meetings

Jane Swift is available to meet with students one-on-one as requested during her visits. This is an opportunity for undergraduate and graduate students to talk with her about her experiences, career advice, assignments, and other topics of interest.

Campus Visits

Jane Swift will visit campus multiple times throughout the spring semester to share her knowledge, skills, and experiences with students interested in politics, education, and women’s leadership. While on campus, she will visit classes, facilitate meals with students, coordinate speaker/workshop events, and meet one-on-one with students as requested. This webpage will be updated throughout the semester as new opportunities become available.
