Salem State Preschool accepting summer program registrations
The preschool at Salem State University is currently accepting registrations for its six-week summer nature program, “Forest River Explorers.” The program will run June 27 through August 5, from 8 am to 1 pm. It may be taken on a five-day-per-week basis, three-day-per-week basis or two-day-per-week basis, and is open to children between the ages of two years and nine months to five years of age.
The “Forest River Explorers” will meet at Salem State’s preschool to explore the diverse plant and wild life of the nearby Forest River Conservation area. The children’s discoveries will become the subject of various studio arts experiences including drawing, painting, collages, and sculptures, as well as literacy activities including stories and poetry. With nature journals and magnifying glasses, children will hike the trails and woodland in search of wildflowers, birds, trees, and other wild life. Daily activities include both indoor and outdoor experiences.
Registration is by appointment only on March 15, 16 and 17. Space is limited, and early registration is advised. Please contact Director Bev Gerson at 978.542.6408 to make an appointment.
