Non-Degree Student Registration | Salem State University Skip to main content

Salem State welcomes students to enroll in our classes on a non-degree basis. A non-degree or non-matriculated student is not enrolled at Salem State in a degree program. Are you interested in testing the waters/taking a class to see what it's like? Are you a student taking classes somewhere else wanting to get ahead in the summer or winter? Browse our course offerings.

New non-degree students may use our First-Time Self-Service for Non-degree Students, which lets you create a student account and register online for the first time.  If you have previously applied to or taken classes at Salem State, you will not be able to use this system. You may try resetting your password and looking up your user ID on the Navigator page, or you may contact the Student Navigation Center for assistance in reactivating your student account.

Note for graduate non-degree students: students may take no more than 9 graduate credits prior to formal enrollment in a degree or certificate-seeking graduate program.

If you wish to apply for admission to Salem State, please visit the admissions office.
