Bold, Educated, Empowered Sisters (BEES)
Focused on women’s empowerment and professional skill-building, BEES offers self-identified women of color an opportunity to gain skills and knowledge necessary to reach their personal and professional goals.
The Brotherhood
Focused on academic success and retention, The Brotherhood offers self-identified men of color resources and mentorship to reach academic and achievement goals. The Brotherhood aims to support academic persistence, and connect students directly to faculty/staff resources.
Florence Luscomb Women's Center
Serves as a community network for women; providing support, encouragement, teaching, and resources.
Hispanic-American Society
Promotes interest among students in Hispanic history and culture by sponsoring educational, cultural and social events.
International Student Association
Fosters international awareness and cultural exchange between all members of the college.
Multicultural Student Association
Provides students with an avenue whereby they can get together to explore their heritage.
The Alliance
The Alliance is a student group that offers opportunities to meet socially, plan events, lobby politically and/or find support for gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender students and their straight allies. The Alliance has sponsored activities for GLBT Awareness Month, Transgender Day of Remembrance, AIDS Awareness, social dances, drag shows, and more. Be sure to look for their open receptions at the beginning of each semester to meet members of the Salem State University GLBT community. An expression of diversity and cultural awareness through arts such as spoken word poetry, dance, step, music, and drama.
