Gender-Inclusive Housing: Residence life at Salem State is committed to providing an inclusive, comfortable environment for all students. Gender-inclusive housing allows students to select or be assigned suite-mates regardless of gender or sex. All of our first-year housing options have gender-inclusive restrooms with private showers on each floor. This living option is also available to upper-class students. Students who wish to live in gender-inclusive housing should indicate their interest in their housing application or speak with a member of the residence life staff. For questions, please contact Sam Lim, LGBTQIA+ Coordinator at email@example.com or residence life at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Chosen Name: In order to create a consistent name experience for all community members across campus, students at Salem State University may select to use a chosen name different from their legal name to identify themselves. The Chosen Name Policy applies to internal university documents such as class rosters, ClipperCard, and Canvas. Students are able to select and change their chosen name in Navigator. For assistance in utilizing this policy, please contact Sam Lim, LGBTQIA+ Coordinator at email@example.com.
