Dance Macabre: Ghouls, Phantoms and Scary Clowns

The University Chamber Orchestra presents its end of semester concert focusing on French composers and, in particular, their programmatic pieces about the magical, mystical and the macabre. The program includes:

Symphonie Fantastique, Op. 14, IV. The Procession to the Stake by Berlioz
The Sorcerer’s Apprentice by Dukas, ed. by Nieweg
Danse Macabre, Op. 40 by Saint-Saens (solo by Math Major Jesse Mailloux)
Night on Bald Mountain by Mussorgsky, orch. by Rimsky-Korsakov, ed. by Nieweg
Funeral March of the Marionette by Gounod
Selections from The Phantom of the Opera Lloyd Weber, arr. by Custer
Music professor Mary-Jo Grenfell conducts.
