Shaneyka Rodriguez Ortiz

For her entire life, Shaneyka grew up doodling on the sides of her notebook and during idle time during her childhood. She had watched her twin cousins draw whenever she spent summer vacation with them, which inspired her to want to become better as an artist. Over the years Shaneyka was recognized for her artistry during her school life and while attending multiple art classes in high school. She never gave herself any specific title when it came to art other than "artist". She also never specified her art style either. But ever since attending Salem State, she has majored in art and design with a concentration in painting and a minor in English. She has learned a lot, such as the importance of process over product in art. She even discovered, as a representational artist, a love for abstract art. She is still learning today and hopes to have room for art to be in her life always.”

Tricia Manning Biography

Tricia Manning, a senior in the Salem State Graphic Design department from Saugus, MA, has been interested in art starting at a young age. She has always enjoyed art classes growing up and spent as much time as she could in the drawing and painting studio in High School. Tricia has always loved being creative and expressing herself on paper, but she also has a passion for makeup and cosmetics that inspires some of her design work.

Starting her freshmen year as a social work major, Tricia knew almost right away that the field of social work was not right for her. She loves to help people but felt as though she was missing out on her other creative interests. Tricia soon realized she wanted to pursue art in some form and had an interest in social media, which was when she switched her concentration to Graphic Design. Some of her passions as a designer include illustration and photography which she uses in a lot of her work.
