Preceding the 2016 presidential election and the release of the movie Patriot’s Day, Ed Davis and Richard DesLauriers will share their story of events of the Boston Marathon bombing, responding to terrorist attacks, tracking down the offenders and rebuilding community confidence. They will address homegrown terrorism and discuss where our country has gone awry that citizens feel compelled to commit terrorist attacks.
MIT patrol officer Sean Collier, who was killed in the days following the bombings, is a 2009 graduate of Salem State. Sean’s family has elected to establish a scholarship in his name at the University, so future students can be aided in pursuing their dream of becoming a law enforcement officer. It is the family’s hope that these new officers will continue Sean’s legacy of service. Proceeds from this event will benefit the Sean A. Collier Criminal Justice Scholarship.
Tickets go on sale September 20 at 10 am. For complete details and ticket information, visit the Salem State Series page.
