When choosing items to donate, think portable and accessible without a kitchen. Suggested donations include granola bars, breakfast bars, protein bars, pop tarts, snack packs, peanut butter, jam/jelly, fruit cups, juice boxes, raisins, nuts, oatmeal packs, cereal, powdered milk, shelf-stable milk, bottled water, jello cups, pudding cups, ramen, mac and cheese cups. Other suggested donations include flip-top cans of beef stew, chili, canned pasta, soups, tuna, and chicken.
Non-food donations such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, floss, feminine hygiene products, safety razors and deodorant are also helpful.
Can't make it to campus but want to donate? The Salem State First Year Seminar on Poverty and Philanthropy is also accepting monetary donations for the food pantry.
