An evening of original choreography created by faculty and students. The concert includes an excerpt from Seagulls and Phoenixes, conceived, directed and choreographed by spring choreographer in residence DeAnna Pellecchia. Seagulls & Phoenixes (excerpt) was created as part of KAIROS Dance Theater's Ministry of Femme Project, a collection of multimedia contemporary dance performances exploring the feminine experience, the spectrum of gender, and the resilience of survivors.
Student choreographers whose work will be featured are: Aiden Jones, Amber Palmer, Arianna Cavallaro, Austin Guin, Kaija Schram, Kaddidie Thibodeau, Magen Beaudet, Samantha Gurney, Savannah Kimber and Vasia Fotopoulos.
The Salem Hip Hop Dance Ensemble will make its debut at this concert! Under the direction of dance faculty Joanne Caidor, the group is made up of current students, alumni and community members.
A suggested donation of $10 at the door supports the National Dance Honor Society. Advance reservations are not required.
