First Year Experience is now accepting nominations for the Outstanding First Year Advocate Award, given annually to faculty, staff/administrators, and upper-class student leaders/staff who have made a difference in the experience of first-year students this past year.
While most nominations come from first-year students, faculty and staff are able to submit as well.
Nominees for the Outstanding First Year Advocate Award may have:
• Assisted in successfully acclimating first-year students to the university
• Provided tools and/or support to first-year students
• Helped first-year students achieve academic and/or personal success
• Promoted a welcoming campus environment among first-year students
• Exhibited a welcoming attitude that fostered a positive first year experience
• Demonstrated outstanding commitment to first-year student success in and/or outside of the classroom
• Encouraged student involvement on campus and/or within the community among first-year students
• Provided a single moment of meaningful support or support over a longer period of time
Nominations are due Wednesday March 22, 2023. Faculty, staff, and first-year students may submit nominations online.
