Salem State’s regional accrediting body is NECHE, the New England Commission on Higher Education. Accreditation relies on a voluntary, peer review process within higher education. The goals of accreditation are to foster improvement and public assurance of quality. A self-study report and site visit are held every 10 years.
Salem State's next self-study report is due by January 2021. Join this open forum to learn about Salem State's accreditation process and to contribute to the self-study report. A site visit with a team of faculty and administrators from other institutions will review our self-study and meet with campus community members in April 2021.
