Every first-year/freshman student at Salem State University is required to complete the first year seminar, a 3-credit academic course that students take during their first semester of college. First year seminars are topic-based, meaning every course is different and students have the opportunity to select a seminar that interests them. Come learn more about the process for reviewing and selecting first year seminars to ensure that you select the appropriate course for you. (Note: transfer students with 15 or more credits from a previous institution are exempt from first year seminar.)
