Large Classes—Workshop

Status message

Please note that this event has already occurred.

This workshop will be offered twice: once from 10 am–12 pm and once from 1–3 pm. All attendees are invited to lunch from 12–1 pm. (Choose your time by registering online)

Large classes can promote a feeling of disengagement among students who feel like a number in the classroom, eroding their sense of responsibility and leading to behaviors such as missing class, not doing homework and cheating. Teachers, on the other hand, struggle with providing an interactive atmosphere, giving students rapid, responsive feedback and maintaining high impact practices used in smaller classes. In this workshop, we will discuss the issues you feel are most challenging in large classes, discuss options and present helpful resources.
