Dr. Charmaraman’s work explores positive youth media, identity development, and digital citizenship.

Her talk will address:

  • How social media is used in risky and resilient ways during adolescence
  • Relationships with wellbeing and mental health particularly for vulnerable groups
  • Workshops for middle school students that promote purposeful identity and agency exploration on social media
  • The importance of the “village” of stakeholders to promote positive social media use in our youth – from peer to parent to policymaker
