Implementing Disability Justice: Using Intersectional and Anti-oppressive Approaches for Helping Professionals

In this webinar, Elspeth Slayter (Professor, School of Social Work) and Dr. Lisa Johnson (Associate Professor, School of Social Work) explore disability movements and offer a discussion of the frameworks of intersectionality, critical cultural competence, and anti-oppressive practice in a way that acknowledges multi-systemic privilege and oppression for those with a range of social identities. Using a case example, we will discuss application of these approaches in helping profession settings.
