First Year Seminar Selection: Info Session for New Students

Status message

Please note that this event has already occurred.

First year seminars are required 3-credit, academic courses that students take within the General Education program at Salem State University. Each seminar is topic-based - seminars are NOT related to a student's major. The seminar is required for all incoming first-year students. New transfer students who have taken fewer than 15 credits at a previous institution are also required to take first year seminar.

First-year students entering for fall 2021 should select their first year seminar in Navigator (after selecting their orientation session) between March 1 and June 1 after reading all of the seminar options.

In addition to reviewing the seminar descriptions and FAQs about the Salem State University first year seminar program, first-year (freshmen) are encouraged to attend an information session prior to selecting their first year seminar for the fall semester. Each session is approximately 30-45 minutes. Students can register for a session by following the specific day/time link posted on the university website.
