Fall Move In Weekend

Welcome to campus!

Residence life is thrilled to welcome over 1,400 resident students to campus!

Move in will take place over three days:

  • Saturday, September 3: Marsh Hall, Bowditch Hall
  • Sunday, September 4: Viking Hall, Peabody Hall
  • Monday, September 5: Atlantic Hall

Students can select their preferred move-in time in their housing portal.

Note: Students who are moving in early (fall athletes, First Year Day of Service participants, etc.) will receive their move-in details separately.

Select Your Move In Time before August 14

To select your move-in time:

  1. Log into your Housing Portal.
  2. Scroll down to the “Assignments” section.
  3. Select “Fall 2022”
  4. Complete the “Fall 2022 (Hall) Check In” time block selection.

If you do not select a time prior to August 14, a move-in time will be assigned to you.

What to Expect on Move-in Day

  1. Arrive at the O’Keefe Complex (225 Canal St) at your move-in date and time. Only students will be asked to come inside, all other family or friends are asked to remain in the car.
  2. The person assisting at the check-in table will let you know what other stations you need to visit to complete your check in.
  3. Proceed towards the exit and collect your clearance materials, which are required to move into your building.
  4. Drive to your residence hall to unload. Once you arrive at your hall, you will unload your car in a temporary space and then move your car immediately to a parking lot. It is expected that at least one member of your party remain with the vehicle until it can be moved. If you are arriving alone, please inform the greeter upon arrival for further instruction.

Immunization/Vaccine Compliance

All residential and full-time students need to be in compliance with the traditional immunization and COVID-19 vaccine requirements. Log into your student health portal, click “Enter my COVID-19 vaccination information” to submit an image of your CDC (Centers for Disease Control) card as proof of vaccination. Any exemption documentation should also be submitted in the health portal.

New and transfer students must submit their immunizations prior to moving on campus. You can view your immunization status on your health portal. Please address any outstanding immunization requirement highlighted in red prior to move-in. Please review messages and submit your immunization documentation, including the required forms, on your health portal as soon as possible.

Residential Isolation Departure Plan

Residential students will be required to have a departure plan in the event that they test positive for COVID-19 and complete their isolation period off campus.

With the closure of Bates, the university will maintain a small number of spaces on the Harrington/Central Campus as isolation beds for residential students unable to isolate off-campus due to extenuating circumstances. If these spaces are full, students will need to isolate in their assigned residence hall rooms.

To fill out your departure plan:

  1. Log into your Housing Portal
  2. Select “Housing Applications” from the main navigation menu
  3. Select “Isolation or Quarantine Departure Plan”
  4. Complete the application and submit

Note: Those students who do not fill out the plan before arrival are required to do so during move-in.

Settle Your Financial Obligations

Settling your fall bill means that you must:

  • pay your balance in full, or
  • be on an approved payment plan, and/or
  • have sufficient financial aid to cover your balance, which includes completing all aid-related items on your To-Do list in your Navigator account.

You can confirm your total aid and account balance in Navigator. For billing and financial aid assistance, please email navcenter@salemstate.edu.

Uploading your Clippercard Picture

For new or transfer students that do not have a Clippercard yet:
