Dear Viking Students and Families,
I’m sure many of you have questions about the upcoming fall semester and I invite you to join me to hear about our plans on Zoom on April 6 at 6 pm.
This fall we plan to offer a more “traditional” campus experience, with primarily on-campus instruction and opportunities to participate in on-campus events and activities. At the same time, we will continue following state guidance, and prioritize the health and safety of the community as we have successfully done throughout this pandemic. We will also take advantage of what we have learned this year, like how to connect virtually with each other, which many of you have found beneficial.
As you may have heard, on-campus housing will have options for both single and double rooms, and lounge spaces will be open following public health guidelines. The university will offer more in-person as well as some remote social and educational activities and engagement opportunities, including in-person performances, activities and celebrations. We are also looking forward to having our athletes playing again!
I am excited about the possibilities as we look to build our new normal. I invite all current students to join me and members of campus leadership on Tuesday, April 6 at 6 pm on Zoom to learn more about our fall plans for academics, housing, dining, student life, athletics, and more. This is also an opportunity for you to ask your questions!
Register for the Fall Semester Preview event here! If you are unable to make this event, please read Fall 2021: A Look Ahead. We will also be posting a recording of this forum a few days after the event on this same page.
Thanks again for choosing Salem State. I realize this pandemic year has been difficult and I’m proud of the way our Viking students have risen to the challenge. We know earning your degree is important to you—and we want you to be successful. This is one of the reasons why Salem State has frozen tuition and fee rates for the next academic year for both undergraduate and graduate students!
I look forward to seeing many more of you on campus this September.
