Climate Survey Community Forum

Sue Rankin of Rankin and Associates Consulting will share the results of the campus climate study with community members in open town hall forums on Thursday, November 2 from 10:50 am – 12:05 pm and then again from 4:30 – 5:45 pm. Both of these sessions will be held at the Sophia Gordon Center. In addition to sharing what the university has learned, the development of an action plan will be discussed.

As a reminder, the campus climate study is an effort to understand the overall climate at Salem State University. The term, climate, is being used in this context to mean: the working and learning environment at Salem State University, particularly as it relates to access, inclusion and level of respect for individual and group needs, abilities and potential. The aim of this study is to provide Salem State University with institutional/community information, analysis and recommendations as it relates to climate. This information will be used in conjunction with other data to help create a more inclusive and welcoming environment for the entire Salem State community. The survey, which includes over 3,000 responses from a cross section of students, faculty and staff, was conducted from February 17 – April 7, 2017.
