About the Artist
Brian Alves is a 1995 graduate of the Intermedia department at the University of Iowa where he studied with Professor Hans Breder and a collective of creative peers. His work is indebted to the synthesis of ideas and the blending of forms that is a fundamental approach in contemporary creative practice. This boundary crossing applies to a multiplicity of “non-traditional” visual art approaches including the integration of found materials, vocations, histories, technologies, video, digital animation and code.
Alves is an Associate Professor at Salem State University on the north shore of Massachusetts.
