*Limited tickets available. The event is free to SSU students, faculty and staff, but advance ticket registration is required by Monday, September 20.

Join us for a conversation with author Dave Tamanini to explore fiction's unique power to explore the history of the Salem Witch Trials.

The Salem State Public History program sponsors and organizes events that bring alive the diverse, exciting and complex work of doing history in public.

Dave Tamanini wrote Tituba: The Intentional Witch of Salem, after a long career as a civil rights investigator working on gender and racial discrimination cases. The novel, with its magical point of view, is a provocative retelling of the Salem witch hysteria that explores the emotions and reasons driving the events. Join us as we talk with Dave about the history of the witch trials and his efforts to create and hold space for a fuller realization of Tituba, who has long been marginalized as a part of the broader story.
