Advocacy Day: For People Who Want to Take Action

This event will include guest speakers and workshops for students who are interested in learning about social justice issues and gaining activist skills. The event will begin with a keynote by Nazda Alam, SSU alumna and immigration and voting rights activist. Other guest activists will address women’s rights, student debt and higher education, economic and housing justice, racial justice, and LGBTQ rights.

The event will include two breakout sessions. The first session will educate attendees on social justice issues of their interest and the second session will teach attendees activist tools they can use to create social change in their community.

Lunch will be provided for attendees.

This event is sponsored by the Center for Civic Engagement, first year experience office and student involvement and activities.
