In response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak and in keeping with the recommendations of Governor Baker, Salem State is canceling this event and all on-campus activities through the end of the Spring 2020 semester. Read more about Salem State’s response to the outbreak.

The Center for Civic Engagement is excited to announce that our annual Advocacy Day Conference is Monday, March 30, 2020 — register online now to save your seat!

The conference will address four major social justice issues as listed below. We have some excellent guest activists who will lead the breakout sessions this year on these topics. This year we have two keynote speakers: Rosario Ubiera-Minaya, Salem State alumna and executive director of Amplify LatinX, and Varshini Prakash, founder of the Sunrise Movement.

Topics for the day include:

  • College affordability
  • Climate change
  • Racial justice and health equity
  • Gun violence

Light breakfast and lunch will be provided for attendees.
