Every year, the Salem State community gathers to celebrate the life and works of Dr. King through awards, programming, and speakers. After a year of racial injustice, civil unrest, and an unprecedented pandemic, this year marks the 31st annual celebration and signifies a call-to-action for our community.
With the forthcoming presidential inauguration, join the Center for Civic Engagement and the MLK/BHM Collaborative on Wednesday, January 20 at 11:30 am for a watch party and programming. The inauguration will start at 12 pm. The event will highlight recognizing the first Black, first South Asian, first Woman vice president-elect to have graduated from a historically Black university, Kamala Harris.
