The 40th Annual Creativity Awards takes place Monday, May 9 at 7 pm in the Sophia Gordon Center. This annual event recognizes 10 students for outstanding achievements in their respective disciplines. The distinguished recipients studied dance, music, theatre, creative writing and art + design at Salem State. Each winner was nominated by their department faculty members in the College of Arts and Sciences.

The evening will include the presentation of the Lifetime Achievement in the Arts Award to Maria Mazziotti Gillan, poet, and Peter Schumann, founder, Bread and Puppet Theater.
The Essex County Community Foundation will also be recognized for its Creative County Initiative.
