Our academic programming is intentionally aligned with workforce needs and we continually strive to enhance students’ professional development. Salem State believes experiential learning opportunities give students the skills they need to hit the ground running in their careers.
With the Cabot Wealth Management Lab in the Bertolon School of Business, business students have access to data and tools used by investment professionals, allowing the next generation of Salem State students to access the world of finance at their fingertips. Bloomberg Terminals bring together real-time data on global markets, international news and research, powerful analytics, communications tools and world-class execution capabilities. Thank you to Cabot Wealth Management, The Charles Schwab Foundation, St. Jean’s Credit Union Charitable Foundation, Eastern Bank Charitable Foundation, North Shore Bank and Salem Five Bank Charitable Foundation for making this incredible addition to our business school possible.
Launched in 2019 with the Individual Projects in Business Administration course and funded by donors Rob and Rachel ’98 Lutts, the Student Investment Fund provides finance students with experiential learning opportunities in portfolio management and the investment management process. The goal is for students to create returns on the fund, growing the assets available to invest and ultimately creating scholarships for future students, philanthropy coming full circle..”
Field experiences in schools and community organizations are an integral component of all the programs in our School of Education. Education students experience increasing responsibility as they progress through the program and are provided valuable professional experience in their chosen fields. Whether they’re interested in teaching a school, running a day care center or working in a community education program, students are connected to opportunities that build professional skills and develop career paths.
