Budget and Financial Planning

The budget and financial planning office at Salem State University contributes to the mission of the university and that of the finance and business division by assisting in the development of the university's budget as both a planning tool and as a control mechanism, by supporting all budget users as they develop an understanding of the power of the budget as a planning tool, by providing timely reports and guidance in the interpretation of those reports, and by making long-term projections of budgetary needs and opportunities. Budget also assists with budgetary adjustments and transfers, with guidance on managerial accounting and with input on changes in the chart of accounts to facilitate better management.
