Inherent in us and at our core is wholeness. The very fabric of our being is made of wholeness. We are all born complete. However, due to our upbringing, life's circumstances and experiences, and our interpretation of these experiences based largely on our early life learnings and relationships with key caregivers, the wholeness which is our birthright may be hidden and not experienced at all or very little. We then spend the rest of our lives searching for what is inside us all along, but we have forgotten. We live in a relational universe. Everything in our universe occurs in relationship. We experience opposites and we also have the capacity to hold opposites together for the creation of yet something else. When we don't choose one opposite for the other and are able to hold both polarities within ourselves, true integration can occur and wholeness can be felt. Since we live in a relational universe, we were never meant to "do life alone."
It takes a desire to experience more of who we are and a willingness to traverse new personal and psychological territories, including the warts and dark places in our hearts and souls, in order to have greater self integration and wholeness. This is the journey each one of us on the planet takes and we all take it knowing that we can and do help each other on the way. Each of us knows, on some deep level, that the payoff will be grand. It is an unwritten contract deep within the hearts and souls of each of us. |
