Laptop FAQs
Can I save my work to a floppy using my laptop?
No, most laptops do not have a floppy disk drive. Instead, laptops have a CD drive and a USB drive, both of which can be used to save your work. Students can also email files to themselves and retrieve them from any computer with internet access.
How do I print from my laptop?
To print files you have stored on your laptop you may either:
- Email the files you to yourself and then print them from one of the computers in the open access computing labs.
- Save the files onto a USB Flash memory card/stick and use the computers in the open access computing labs to print.
How can I clean my laptop's screen?
The screen of a laptop is delicate. You should wipe it clean only with laptop screen tissues that can be bought at any computer store. You should not clean the screen with any other tissues as this will damage the screen.
