Connecting to the Internet

* The recommended Ethernet cards are: 3COM and NetGear. The college DOES NOT ALLOW Linksys or D-Link network cards to be used on the network! If purchasing a new computer, request that the computer has a network card installed.

• Plug the patch cord into your pre-assigned port (in the blue jack)
• Turn your computer on
• Launch your web browser
• Fill out the ResNet Activation Form located at http://resnet.salemstate.edu/

This can only be done from your dorm room!

If you cannot access the form...

• Follow the Self Certification Instructions (available from on-campus only)

Please note that network card settings may conflict with the settings for a modem.

Connecting to the Wireless Network

Please note: Wireless connections are not as fast as hard wired connections and they are susceptible to interference. Plugging into a data jack can be up to 9x faster.
