Undergraduate Admissions
Salem State is home to hundreds of international students from dozens of countries. We value our global community for the diversity they bring to campus.
Because of the many forms and processing time it takes, an international freshman applicant should file for admission no later than:
May 15 for September entrance,
November 1 for January entrance.
Requirements
- Certification of Finances form [PDF 60KB]
- An official High School transcript*
- An official Secondary School transcript*
- All post-Secondary School transcripts, i.e. college & university work*
- Transcripts from international institutions may require evaluation from a professional evaluation service, for example the Center for Educational Documentation
- School Examination results*
- Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) or the American College Testing (ACT) is required of all international applicants. February is the last test date for which you can register so that your scores would reach us in time for evaluation. There is no minimum score required for the SAT or ACT. Registration & test info.
- Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) results are required for all applicants whose native language is not English. Minimum scores must be 500 (paper-based), 173 (computerized) or 61 (internet-based). Registration & test info.
*All transcripts must be submitted with a translated and notarized copy.
Admissions Application Deadlines
Our admissions decisions are made on a rolling basis. Applications continue to increase. To insure that your application is considered for admission, we strongly recommend that you apply early.
Fall 2008
- We are accepting freshman and transfer applications for the fall 2008 semester. Please apply as soon as possible
- We are no longer accepting applications for the Undergraduate Day Nursing Program for Fall 2008. Please apply in October 2008 for January 2009.
