Undergraduate Admissions
 
We are committed to providing access to education to students who would benefit from pre-college skill development. To that end, we offer alternative admissions programs focusing on academic and social support. Programs are limited to students attending college for the first time. A.I.D. / ACCESS Requirements
A.I.D./ACCESS is an educational opportunity and special admissions program. It is designed to support minority, low-income and educationally disadvantaged students. Applications are accepted from any high school senior, or graduate, or from anyone who has passed the GED three or more years after their high school graduation class. Required are:
- High school grades.
- Test scores SAT or ACT.
- Diagnostics tests administered at Salem State College
Developmental Skills Program Requirements
The Developmental Skills Program seeks to increase students' potential for academic success by providing support that will enhance their experience at SSC. Students selected into DSP agree to participate in a six-week Summer Institute. Courses taken include Reading and Study Skills, Writing, Mathematics, and Health and Wellness. Credits earned will fulfill graduation requirements.
Required are:
- High School Grades.
- Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT). Scores on the verbal portion cannot exceed 530. Scores on the math portion cannot exceed 500.
- Students must be confirmed by completing diagnostic testing prior to admission.
Student Support Services Program
The Student Support services program provides comprehensive support services for student from low-income households and or to those whose parents did not graduate from college (first-generation). Required are:
- High school grades.
- Test scores (SAT or ACT)
Admissions Application Deadlines
Our admissions decisions are made on a rolling basis. Applications continue to increase. To insure that your application is considered for admission, we strongly recommend that you apply early.
Fall 2008
- We are accepting freshman and transfer applications for the fall 2008 semester. Please apply as soon as possible
- We are no longer accepting applications for the Undergraduate Day Nursing Program for Fall 2008. Please apply in October 2008 for January 2009.
