Why Give?

While the Commonwealth of Massachusetts is Salem State's single largest supporter, contributing approximately 40 percent of our operating budget, there is still a significant gap in funding the actual value of a Salem State education. That gap is filled by our hardworking students and their parents through tuition and fees, and by the generous gifts of our alumni, parents and friends.

Annual giving provides scholarships for deserving students, buys athletic equipment, underwrites research, brings important speakers and guests to campus, and provides resources for faculty, among so many other things.

Your participation in the annual fund sends an important message to others that you believe in the value of investing in a Salem State education. Annual gifts come in all sizes, from just a few dollars up to $100,000 or more. 

Salem State provides exceptional opportunities that prepare students to make a difference in today's world. Education matters, but it requires your support.
