While the Commonwealth of Massachusetts provided 100 percent of Salem State's budget only 50 years ago, it now provides only 36.6 percent. Clearly, a new model for Salem State is emerging, that of a public/private university that offers more opportunity and more promise than ever before, and needs your support to succeed.

With Salem State’s elevation to university status in 2010, we are now in a unique position to capitalize on the energy, excitement and opportunity surrounding us. Salem State has increased in stature and reach over the past decade. Now, as Salem State University, we find the expectations of what we can produce, what students and faculty expect from us, are greater. Based on our past performance, we have no doubt of our ability to meet the standard.
