President Dalton announced that the revised minutes of April 13

were accepted.

Chair king pointed out that the heading “Student Life” was missing

from the minutes of April 20.  Since these minutes had the election

results in them we voted to accept them.

minutes of April 20 as corrected.

                                                                        Batastini/ Garvey (Unanimous)

                            II.      PRESIDENT’S REPORT

 · President Dalton thanked everyone for a great year.  She

thanked the Executive board for all their dedication and she

thanked our advisor Dr. Brossoit and, of course, Sharon Rivers.

· President Dalton announced that the executive board had come

up with some awards.  The chair of the year went to Melissa King

and the Senator of the Year went to Ashleyne Alexis.

· President Dalton announced that Wednesday, April 28th is State

House Day where a group of us will be going to persuade the

                         III.      VICE PRESIDENT’S REPORT

· Vice President Batastini announced that Monday, May 3 at

11 is the Outgoing Leadership Reception, which is a mandatory

event for groups and clubs in Vet’s Hall.  There will be several

awards given out, so please make sure you go.

· Vice president Batastini informed us that we received 48 blood

donations at the Blood drive last week and we had 57 people

come in and try.  The percentage of those who could give blood

and showed up is huge.

· Vice President Batastini gave an update on the birthday party.

She has flyers that need to be passed out, so if everyone could

come by the office and grab some, that would be great.  She also

informed the group that everyone needed to be at the party

because we are going to need people at all the tables so we will

take shifts.  She showed a diagram of how the room was going to

be set up.  It is going to be a great event.  Dr. Brossoit suggested

making a huge sign.

                         IV.      TREASURER'S REPORT

  · Treasurer Garvey mentioned something that he had talked over.

At the end of the year when all the budgets close, the money left

over goes to the reserves. This year he wants to pool all the leftover

money into the SGA budget and buy something for the groups and

clubs.  He was thinking of getting a new group and club computer,

but is looking for input and ideas from everyone.  Senator Alexis

suggested buying a subscription to a decoration magazine.  It was

also suggested that we buy a huge poster-making machine.  If

anyone has any ideas please e-mail them to Treasurer Garvey.

· Treasurer Garvey thanked everyone for a great year, he thanked

the finance committee and the budget committee.

· Treasurer Garvey also informed the group that he met with the

Board of trustees and the request for a $3 fee increase was passed

and so wasn’t the budget for next year.

administration.

executive board for making it a smooth transition.

MOTION: President Cogliano entertained a motion to enter into

                   executive session.

                            Williamson / Higgins (Unanimous)

· Treasurer Garvey explained that the purpose of executive session is so that the executive board can decide upon things over the summer while everyone is away.

·  President Cogliano announced that screen-ins would be held at the beginning of next year so keep your eyes open.

· Alyssa Batastini announced the Board of Trustees Student Life committee meeting on May 26th where they will be discussing the arming of campus police.

· Jonathan Ring congratulated the new administration and wished them the best of luck for the upcoming year.  He told Rose-Marie Theberge (the new Student Trustee) that if she needed anything than he would be there to answer any questions.  He also announced the Board of trustee meetings coming up.  The committee meeting is on May 26th and the Board meeting is on June 4th.  He urged everyone to consider the process that he used on his part time student proposal because he believes it is correct.  He explained that the reason for bringing up the part time student proposal was because of an oath that he took at the courthouse to support the US Constitution.  In the US Constitution it says that every individual is equal and should be treated equally.  He believes that this means that all full time and part time students should be equal.  He closed by saying that he had a great year.  He made a lot of mistakes and a lot of achievements, but that is all part o the learning process as student leaders.  He wished everyone in the room success and luck.
