Tuition, Fees, Housing, and Meal Plan Costs

Payment Policy Information

Fall semester and spring semester charges are billed separately. We do not send paper bills.

Email notifications are sent out when an eBill is available for viewing. eBills are available the second Tuesday of every month. Fall eBills are generated in July, and spring eBills are generated in December.

The online eBill can be downloaded and printed out for your records. Bills must be paid by the due date, as listed on this page. Failure to comply with the university's payment due dates may result in late payment penalties.

Payment may be made by:

  • Check (made payable to Salem State University)
  • Any major credit card. A 2.75 percent non-refundable service fee ($3 minimum fee) will be assessed by TouchNet, our credit card processor, for credit card payments. We do accept debit card payments in the Student Navigation Center. 
  • Confirmed financial aid or loans
  • Interest free monthly payment plan available the first week of July through Tuition Management Systems (TMS) or by calling 1.888.216.4258

Notes

1 - The university fee represents the fee anticipated for 2015-16. Fees may change by action of the board of trustees.

2 - Housing rates include (1) $20/semester - $40/year Residence Hall Association Fee and (2) $245 per semester/$490 per year Technology/Student Service/Programming Fee.

3 - Charged to all commuter students. It is required for all first-year students in first two semesters of attendance; waivable for other students. Includes $280 dining dollars and $75 ClipperCash per semester.

4 - Minimum required for residents of Atlantic Hall and Bates Complex. Includes $280 in dining dollars and $75 in ClipperCash per semester.

5 - Minimum required for residents of Peabody, Bowditch and Marsh Halls. All plans include $75 ClipperCash per semester; 10-meal and 14-meal plans include $200 dining dollars; 19-meal plan includes $100 dining dollars.

6 - Charged for all students enrolled in at least 75 percent of a full-time course load. Students may opt out and have fee waived if covered by other health insurance.

7 - Charged for all day students per semester. Student may opt out and have a fee waived.
