Greetings
from Student Life
Dear Student:
It is my pleasure to welcome you to the campus on behalf of the staff
of the Student Life Division. Whether you are a new or returning student,
I hope you take full advantage of the many Student Life programs and services
that are available to you. There are more than forty (40) groups and clubs
in which you can become involved. In addition, for those who also enjoy
participating in or watching athletic events, there are eighteen men's
and women's intercollegiate teams and an extensive intramural program.
Concerts, plays, lectures, film series, and art exhibits are also offered
throughout the year to enhance a student's life outside the classroom
experience.
In order to encourage student participation in the extracurricular programs
offered by the College, a community time period has been implemented every
Monday from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm. This is a time when no classes or labs
are scheduled and students are encouraged to become involved in one of
the many planned activities.
There is a broad range of support services available to you throughout
your matriculation. Those services include: career advisement and assistance,
professional counseling, health care, on and off campus housing resources
and referrals, spiritual guidance, public safety programs, dining options,
and substance abuse assistance.
The Compass has been specifically designed to assist you with any questions
you might have regarding the many non-academic offices and activities
that the College provides.
I hope you find your entry or return to campus life an exciting and productive
experience. Please feel free to use any of the services available to you
whenever necessary.
My best wishes for a successful academic year.
Sincerely,

Stanley P. Cahill, Ph.D.
Vice President for Student Life
