Gender Neutral Housing

Residence life is committed to providing residents with safe, clean, well maintained, and comfortable housing while also demonstrating a commitment to diversity within all department initiatives, policies and services.

Gender neutral housing is a living environment within a residence hall where student housing is not limited to one gender. The purpose of gender neutral housing is to provide a safe and comfortable living space for both individuals who identify as transgender as well as their allies. Gender neutral housing provides options for students in the process of discovering their gender identity and helps create an environment that acknowledges, appreciates and respects the diverse nature of the student body at Salem State University.
