Resident Assistant (RA)

All of our residential areas on campus have resident assistants who work with the students who reside on that floor, pod, or entryway. No matter where on campus you live, you can be sure there is always an RA nearby to assist you. In Bowditch and Peabody halls, each floor has at least one RA and some floors have two. Floors without a second RA typically have the presence of an academic mentor.

Resident assistants promote community, answer questions about the university and campus life, plan social and educational events, assist with roommate/apartment concerns, and help residents feel welcome at Salem State. Students selected to serve as resident assistants participate in several weeks of intensive training, and are highly qualified to provide support and guidance to residents.
