Resident Assistant (RA)
Each residential area on campus typically has one resident assistant who works with the students who resides on that floor, pod or entryway. Depending on the area on campus where you reside, you can be sure there is always an RA nearby. In Bowditch and Peabody halls, each floor has at least one RA and some floors have a second. Floors without a second RA typically have the presence of an academci mentor.
Resident asssitants promote community, answer questions about the university and campus life, plan social and educational events, assist with roommate/apartment concerns, and help residents feel welcome at Salem State. Students selected to serve as resident assistants participate in several weeks of intensive training, and are highly qualified to provide support and guidance to residents.
