Get Involved

The Salem State Log is the student newspaper of Salem State. The Log provides a voice for students by covering a wide variety of campus news and activities. The paper is always looking for more students to join a smart, funny, diverse, and dedicated team that covers news, features, sports, and politics. If you enjoy any combination of reporting, writing, interviewing, editing, taking photographs, doing layout and design, and selling ads, The Log may have just the right campus niche for you. You don’t need to have journalism experience to join The Log staff--we have a variety of skills, abilities and interests, and we’ll be happy to show you how to write and edit news stories, take photographs, and do layout and design.

As side benefits, you will publish your work, boost your resume, enhance your portfolio, and have fun all at the same time. You will also gain valuable job experience and build your network of friends and professional contacts. In addition, you can contribute as much or as little as you like to The Log, which will allow you to work around the rest of your schedule. To find out more, come to our regular staff meeting every Monday at 11 am in Ellison Campus Center Room 018.
