Student Academic Support Services
The mission of Student Academic Support Services (SASS) is to provide academic support to all currently enrolled students. Academic support includes peer tutoring and collaborating with other departments to insure that students have the academic support services that they will need to be successful. Some of the departments that work closely with SASS include, but are not limited to, Academic Advising, Office for Students with Disabilities, Writing Center, Math Lab, Reading Lab, and Accounting Lab. Further, SASS works with the faculty to identify students who would benefit from academic support services.
In addition to offering academic support for our enrolled students, SASS offers alternative admissions opportunities for students who show evidence of having academic deficiencies during their time in high school. SASS offers early awareness programs for high school freshmen, sophomores, and juniors, as well as pre-college summer programs for high school seniors. These programs are designed to assist educationally disadvantaged students by supplementing and strengthening their academic skills and personal growth and development, all with the goal of insuring their success at the College. Student Academic Support Services is temporarily located on the lower level of the Ellison Campus Center.
