SGA Chairs
Tom Durfee - Civic Engagment Chair
Tom Durfee studies physical education at Salem State University. He has served on the Student Government Association for three years in multiple roles such as senator, assistant treasurer, treasurer, and civic engagement chair. This year Tom had great success with his poker tournament in which he raised over $200 that was donated to Lifebridge located in Salem. His passions are physical activity, sports and adventure. He's a die-hard football fan (go Pats!) and hockey fan (go B's!). He enjoys helping others and sharing his experience and wisdom. The only things he fears are the weapons of the weak and the weakness of the hurt.
Adam Kohn - GREENS Chair
Adam Kohn is the GREENS chair of the SGA. Adam is a geography major with an environmental concentration and is also the Salem Geographical Society president. Adam is a super senior (aka fifth year), and is in his final undergraduate semester here at SSU. He is hoping to come back to Salem State this fall as a graduate to get his certificate in GIS (geo-information science). His experience here at SSU has been awesome! He originally came here just to do schoolwork and nothing else. Now he is super active in students groups and it's been the best experience he has had!
Luis Moreta - Rules Chair
Luis Moreta comes to us from Lawrence, Mass. He is a criminal justice major with a concentration in forensic science here at Salem State University; he is a senior. Luis is the rules chair for the SGA. His main responsibilities are to make sure that the constitutions of the various groups and clubs around campus are compliant and up to date, and to ensure that SGA meetings follow Robert’s Rules of Order. Outside of school he enjoys playing football, and his favorite thing to do is work out. He is a very hard working individual both academically and outside of school.
Sara McClory - Public Relations Chair
Sara McClory is a senior at Salem State University, graduating with a degree in English, with a concentration in creative writing. She is currently the chair of the public relations and president of PR committee for the SGA. Sara’s responsibilities include promoting the SGA while they aid other groups and clubs on campus. As part of her duties as PR chair, she runs the SGA radio show. She is also the web editor of The Log. Outside of school, Sara is working toward her goal of entering the military. Her favorite book is I Am Legend by Richard Matheson.
