On April 11, 2008, Patricia Maguire Meservey was inaugurated as the 13th president of Salem State College. In a ceremony filled with pomp and circumstance, President Meservey was formally welcomed to the Salem State community. She told the audience, "Salem State is a remarkable school on the brink of true greatness, poised and very ready for its next period of growth and achievement."

Sitting in a South Campus conference room on a cold afternoon in February, Anita V. M. Shea is comfortable, relaxed and right at home. Why wouldn’t she be? This is the campus she has called home the past 43 years. On January 19, Dean Shea officially retired as dean of the School of Arts and Sciences, a departure that brings to a close a long chapter in the story of Salem State. Read more

Jared Hopkins '08 is one of just 500 students nationally to be awarded a Department of State Critical Language Scholarship. The scholarship will take Hopkins to Amman, Jordan, this summer for 9 weeks of intensive intermediate-level Arabic studies. Read more
