Description: This workshop is for experienced users of SmartBoards and Smart Notebook who are interested in offering professional development within their districts or within the collaborative on the use of SmartBoards in their respective content areas. Each participant will receive a copy of Smart Ideas, a software program that enhances lessons using Smart Notebook. This workshop will be facilitated by two teachers who have offered a number of professional development workshops using SmartBoards. Participants will be given the opportunity to present at the SmartBoard sharing conference next October and some will be asked to offer 10 hour workshops for the collaborative.

Session 1:       Participants will review teaching methodologies using the SmartBoard and SmartNotebook. Workshop facilitators will present sample 10 hour PD format for training colleagues. Each participant will be expected to design their own 10 hour course outline based on their expertise.

Session 2:       Participants will receive copies of Smart Ideas. This software integrates with SmartNotebook. Each participant will be expected to learn how to use this program by the next session and present a mini-activity created with the software. Time will be spent in this workshop with demonstrations by the facilitators on the use of Smart Ideas.

Session 3:       Participants will revise their presentations to include Smart Ideas. A lesson will be created using Smart Ideas and Smart Notebook that can be used as a demonstration in a professional development setting. Additionally, participants will be expected to create a five hour training model for Smart Ideas and share their design with the other participants.
